Introducing new nQrux® Root of Trust

Xiphera has added Root of Trust to the nQrux® family of Hardware Trust Engines. It establishes device identity, protects cryptographic keys, and anchors Secure Boot for ASICs, SoCs, and FPGAs. A root of trust is the component every other part of a system depends on. In Xiphera's streamlined and hardened implementation every operation runs directly in hardware, with no embedded CPU and no software in the trust path.

nQrux® Root of Trust

Why it belongs in hardware

A root of trust implemented in software shares the attack surface of the processor it runs on. Anything that reaches the boot chain, the firmware, or the operating system can reach the keys. Moving the trust anchor into dedicated hardware removes that dependency. Keys and the operations on them stay inside a hardware boundary that the application processor never crosses.

Read our blog: Why hardware root of trust matters?

Why nQrux® Root of Trust?

  • Trust anchor. Upper architecture layers inherit its security and rely on it as the foundation of system trust.

  • No embedded CPU or firmware. No processor, firmware, bootloader, or operating system to integrate, update, or maintain.

  • Fast track to secure hardware foundation. Less development effort and shorter lead times.

  • Post-quantum Root of Trust. Device identity is established with built-in, hardware-based post-quantum cryptography.

  • Smaller footprint on silicon. Streamlines logic and memory utilisation while providing comprehensive Hardware Root of Trust functionality.
